Ten Little Ideas of things to do
- In any order – just pick which things seem to work on Sunday.
You may do just a couple of things, or maybe you will do them all!
1. Free Play
2. Worship time (CD’s and DVD’s)
Play CD. If there are children who seem to want to join in, sing along with them. As we are using little Worship DVD’s from time to time as well, you will find a little collection starting in the classroom. Feel free to use these at any time.
3. 10 Commandment Story (using a picture book)
4. How Many?
“Let’s count to 10, put your hands up like this…”
Have the children practice counting their 10 fingers and then say,
“Do you know how many rules God gave to Moses?…10! The same number of fingers that you have. God gave Moses 10 excellent rules!”
5. 10 Commandments Boogie Woogie
The song isn’t something the kids will be able to learn, but it is something fun to listen to and will be another “reinforcer”

Remind those who listen, “How many fingers do we have? 10? And how many excellent rules did God give Moses? 10, that’s right!”
6. 10 Rules for Moses
We will have Moses and has tablets on a poster on the wall. The kids will have commandment stickers they can stick onto Moses’ tablets
7. Bible memory (5 minutes)
In the Bible, we learn God makes Promises. God loves us and promises to take care of us no matter what. Let’s see if we can remember this Bible verse, first you can practice with me, and then if you put up your hand, you can try to remember it and say it back to me!
“Love God with all your heart…” Luke 10:27
MEMORY VERSE ACTIONS
Love: Hands across chest like a hug
God with: pointing up
All: hands out
Your: point out
Heart: use two fingers to draw a heart on your chest or in the air (starting at the top and ending at the bottom)
8. Snacks (5 minutes)
9. 10 Commandments/Moses Coloring Page
There are good ones on the internet
Bring the children together to pray with them
- thank God that we could learn more about Him today
- thank Him that He loves us.
- thank Him for his excellent rules
